The Aston Martin AMR23 is a Formula One car, Formula One racing car designed and developed by the Aston Martin in Formula One, Aston Martin F1 team competing in the 2023 Formula One World Championship. It is the third Formula One car entered by Aston Martin in the 21st century, and is driven by Lance Stroll and Fernando Alonso. Aston Martin reserve driver Felipe Drugovich temporarily replaced Stroll for all three days of the pre-season test in Bahrain International Circuit, Bahrain, after the latter had a cycling incident that forced him to withdraw from the test. The Aston Martin AMR22 is a Formula One racing car designed and developed by the Aston Martin F1 team to compete in the 2022 Formula One World Championship. Drivers For 2022, Sebastian Vettel and Lance Stroll were both retained as race team drivers. Nico Hülkenberg was announced as reserve driver. Ordinarily, Vettel names his Formula One cars. However, with the AMR22 this is not the case. Design and development The AMR22 is the first car that has been overseen by new team principal, Mike Krack formerly of BMW Motorsport who replaced Otmar Szafnauer who joined Alpine. Charles Marc Hervé Perceval Leclerc (; born 16 October 1997) is a Monégasque racing driver, currently racing in Formula One for Scuderia Ferrari. He won the GP3 Series championship in 2016 and the FIA Formula 2 Championship in . Leclerc made his Formula One debut in for Sauber, a team affiliated with Ferrari, for which he was part of the Ferrari Driver Academy. With Sauber having finished last the year before, Leclerc led the charge to improve its finishing position in the constructors' championship to eighth, and was the higher ranked of the two Sauber drivers.
