Aston Academy
Aston Academy (formerly Aston Comprehensive School until 30 April 2011) is a secondary school with Academy (English school), academy status at Swallownest in the Metropolitan Borough of Rotherham, South Yorkshire, England. History The school first opened in 1957 as Swallownest County Secondary School with the original school buildings completed in 1957 and which still stand today. In 1962, as a result of the amalgamation of Swallownest County Secondary School and Woodhouse Grammar, the school changed its name to Aston Woodhouse High School with further buildings added in 1965 and in 1996. In 1974 the school was placed within the Rotherham Local Authority and became Aston Comprehensive School. Swallownest is a village located in the civil parish of Aston cum Aughton within the Metropolitan Borough of Rotherham, South Yorkshire, England. The village lies south of Rotherham and from Sheffield. The Metropolitan Borough of Rotherham is a metropolitan borough of South Yorkshire, England. It is named after its main settlement of Rotherham. Peter Scantlebury
Peter Scantlebury MBE (born 21 November 1963) is a former international professional basketball player who was capped 131 times for England. Scantlebury began his playing career in 1981 with Guildford. He scored 9,502 points and won nine British Basketball League winners' medals in his National League career. He made his debut for England in 1986 and scored 1,069 points in an international career that lasted until 2002. He was appointed an MBE in 2002 for his services to basketball. He was appointed head coach of Sheffield Sharks in 2003, leading them to the Haribo Cup trophy and BBL Championship play-off title in 2004, and was appointed head coach of England's men's basketball team in 2004, coaching them to a bronze medal at the Commonwealth Games in Melbourne in 2006. People with Significant Control (PSC) is a business and corporate term used in the United Kingdom to identify key people within a company. The term was introduced on 6 April 2016 as part of the Small Business, Enterprise and Employment Act 2015. Schedule 3 to the Act covers the details about maintenance of the PSC register. Under UK law it is a legal obligation to register the names, date of birth, home and work addresses, manner of control and other details of PSC with the government via Companies House. Thurcroft
Thurcroft is a village and civil parish situated south-east of Rotherham in the Metropolitan Borough of Rotherham in South Yorkshire, England. From 1902 to 1991, it was a mining community. It has a population of 5,296, increasing to 6,900 at the 2011 Census. History The name Thurcroft has Norse (Viking) roots as 'thorr' means thunder in old Norse, so is probably at least a thousand years old. According to A. D.
