Assyabaab Surabaya
Assyabaab Salim Group Surabaya or Assyabaab Surabaya or ASGS was an professional football club from Surabaya, Indonesia. History The club founded in 1930 in Ampel, Surabaya as Al-Nasher and joined NIVB competition in 1932 and later changed their name to Al-Faouz during Japanese occupation. In 1948, the club changed their name to Assyabaab; it is a nickname for Arab descent at that place, since most of the founder is the Arab descent. Assyabaab was one of the best club in Indonesian football at 1960–1970 era. At that era, many of Indonesia national football team player like Mohamed Zein Alhadad come from this club. Some players also played in Hong Kong after they played for Assyabaab. Later the club performance decrease. After two decade hiatus from top-tier Indonesian football, Assyabaab promoted to the top level at Galatama on 1991. Gelora 10 November Stadium ( id, Stadion Gelora 10 November; literally "10 November Sports Arena Stadium"), formerly known as Tambaksari Stadium, is a football stadium located in Tambaksari, Surabaya, East Java, Indonesia. It is currently used mostly for association football matches. Originally a football field named Tambaksari Field ( id, Lapangan Tambaksari), the stadium holds 20,000 people. The stadium is widely known to has Pterocarpus indicus trees inside. The current name derives from the one day during Battle of Surabaya, widely known as Indonesian Heroes' Day. Liga Sepak Bola Utama (English: ''Premier Football League''), commonly known by its acronym Galatama, was a semi professional football league in Indonesia, established in 1979 by the Indonesian Football Association, PSSI. Prior to the establishment of the competition, an amateur football league named Perserikatan had existed since 1931.
