Association For Research In Personality
The Association for Research in Personality (abbreviated ARP) is an American learned society dedicated to advancing research into personality. Its mission statement does not mention specific disciplines such as social psychology or policy research, instead simply emphasizing the scientific study of personality. It was established in 2001, with David Watson as the founding president. It originally held an annual preconference before the Society for Personality and Social Psychology's annual conference. In 2009, the ARP began holding its own annual conference. Presidents The current president of the ARP is Wiebke Bleidorn a professor of psychology at the University of Zurich. Society For Personality And Social Psychology
A society () is a group of individuals involved in persistent social interaction or a large social group sharing the same spatial or social territory, typically subject to the same political authority and dominant cultural expectations. William Fleeson
William Fleeson is an American personality psychologist. He is the Hultquist Family Professor of Psychology at Wake Forest University. He earned his Ph.D. in psychology from the University of Michigan in 1992, after completing a Bachelor of Arts in philosophy in 1987 at the University of Wisconsin–Madison. David Watson (psychologist)
David Watson is an American personality psychologist who has been the Andrew J. McKenna Family Professor of Psychology at the University of Notre Dame since 2010. He previously served as a professor of psychology at the University of Iowa beginning in 1993, and taught at Southern Methodist University before then. He was the founding president of the Association for Research in Personality in 2001 and served as editor-in-chief of the ''Journal of Abnormal Psychology'' from 2006 to 2011. Walter Mischel
Walter Mischel (; February 22, 1930 – September 12, 2018) was an Austrian-born American psychologist specializing in personality theory and social psychology. He was the Robert Johnston Niven Professor of Humane Letters in the Department of Psychology at Columbia University. William Revelle
William Roger Revelle (born c. 1944) is a psychology professor at Northwestern University working in personality psychology. Revelle studies the biological basis of personality and motivation, psychometric theory, the structure of daily mood, and models of attention and memory. Early life and education Revelle was raised in La Jolla, California. His father, Roger Revelle, was an early theorist in global warming. Revelle graduated from Pomona College in 1965, abandoning a mathematics major in favor of psychology.
