The Russian Party (; , abbr. RS) is a political party in Serbia that claims to represent the Russian minority. Stari Dvor (, lit. "Old Palace") is the city hall of Belgrade, Serbia, housing the office of the Mayor of Belgrade. It was the royal residence of Serbian royal family (the Obrenović and later Karađorđević) from 1884 to 1922. The palace is located on the corner of Kralja Milana and Dragoslava Jovanovića streets, opposite Novi Dvor (seat of the President of Serbia). 2024 Belgrade City Assembly Election
Local elections were held in Belgrade on 2 June 2024 amidst reports of irregularities during the 2023 City Assembly election. The election was called after the constitutive session of the City Assembly of Belgrade failed to meet quorum after the 2023 elections. Background Protests Shortly after the closing of the voting stations, SNS held a press conference at which Vučić reported that SNS placed first in the election, winning 38 percent of the popular vote. The election resulted in a hung parliament, with Nestorović's MI–GIN being the party that could choose whether to side with the ruling coalition of SNS and SPS or the opposition of SPN and NADA. Nestorović said that "even though no one gave us a chance, we became one of the four or five strongest parties"; he rejected cooperating with either one of the blocs after the elections. Proportional Representation
Proportional representation (PR) refers to any electoral system under which subgroups of an electorate are reflected proportionately in the elected body. The concept applies mainly to political divisions (Political party, political parties) among voters. The aim of such systems is that all votes cast contribute to the result so that each representative in an assembly is mandated by a roughly equal number of voters, and therefore all votes have equal weight. Radomir Lazović and Biljana Đorđević serve as the co-presidents of ZLF. The Movement for Reversal (, abbr. PZP) is a centre-left political organisation in Serbia. Its leader is Janko Veselinović, a professor at the University of Novi Sad. History Movement for Reversal was founded in 2015, by a Serbian academic Janko Veselinović, who decided to split from the Social Democratic Party, claiming that its leadership does not have a clear vision of how to counter the Serbian Progressive Party and the Socialist Party of Serbia. The organisation participated in the 2016 Serbian parliamentary elections in a coalition along with the Serbian Left and the Social Democratic Union. However, the coalition finished ninth with 0.94% of the votes and failed to pass the census. Ecological Uprising (, abbr. EU) is a green political organisation in Serbia. It is led by Aleksandar Jovanović Ćuta. Formed as a political and protest movement in 2021, EU gained presence during the 2021–2022 Serbian environmental protests.
