The Ethiopian Federal Police (EFP; ) is the law enforcement agency of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia. Established in 1995, the agency aims with objectives of maintaining or safeguarding the public security, human and democratic rights, and respecting constitutional law. As autonomous organ, the EFP is surveyed by Ministry of Peace (Ethiopia), Ministry of Peace and administered by the Federal Police Commission enshrined under Proclamation No. 720/2011. Its office is headquartered in Addis Ababa with expectation to expand branches in every regions thereof. In September 2012, he was appointed Ministry of Transport and he has served as an elected member of Addis Ababa City Council. Mulatu Teshome Wirtu (; ; born 1957) is an Ethiopian politician who was president of Ethiopia from 2013 to 2018. Biography Mulatu was born in the town of Arjo in Welega Province. Hailemariam Desalegn Boshe (; born 19 July 1965) is an Ethiopian politician who served as Prime Minister of Ethiopia, prime minister of Ethiopia from 2012 to 2018. 2016–2018 Ethiopian State Of Emergency
A state of emergency was declared on 9 October 2016 by Ethiopian Prime Minister Hailemariam Desalegn, after ''de facto'' taking effect the previous day. The state of emergency authorized the military to enforce security nationwide. It imposed restrictions on freedom of speech and access to information. 2014–2016 Oromo Protests
The 2014–2016 Oromo protests were a series of protests and resistance in Oromia which first sparked on 25 April 2014. The initial actions were taken in opposition to the 2014 Addis Ababa Master Plan, Addis Ababa Master Plan, and resumed on 12 November 2015 by university students and farmers in the town of Ginchi, located 80 km southwest of Addis Ababa, encircled by Oromia Region, Oromia.
