Assam Mail
The Assam Mail was one of the better known metre-gauge trains in the Indian Railways system that was there from the pre-independence days. The train was discontinued in 1986 with the completion of the broad-gauge conversion of the metre-gauge line to Dibrugarh. 3 Up/ 4 Dn Popularly known as 3 Up/ 4 Dn (Kalka Mail was 1 Up/ 2 Dn), it originally ran in the pre-independence days from , now in Bangladesh, to Guwahati. It travelled along the Santahar–Kaunia line up to Kaunia, then to along Parbatipur–Lalmonirhat–Burimari line, crossing the Teesta. Delhi Junction Railway Station
Delhi Junction railway station (station code: DLI) is the oldest railway station located in Chandni Chowk, Old Delhi, Delhi, India. North East Express
The 12505 / 12506 North East Superfast Express is a Daily Superfast Express train of Indian Railways that runs between Kamakhya Junction in Guwahati, Assam and Anand Vihar Terminal near New Delhi, connecting northeastern India to New Delhi. The train belongs to the Northeast Frontier Railway zone of Indian Railways, while the coaches belong to the Kamakhya coaching depot of the Lumding railway division. The North East Express succeeded the Assam Mail in 1986. The train runs along the Barauni–Guwahati line, Mokama–Barauni section, and the Howrah–Delhi main line. Service The train is numbered as 12505/12506. Upper Assam
Upper Assam is an administrative division of the state of Assam comprising the undivided Lakhimpur and Sivasagar (previously, Sibsagar) districts, of the upper reaches of the Brahmaputra valley. Lower Assam division is one of the 5 administrative divisions of Assam in India. The Dooars or Duars () are the alluvial floodplains in eastern-northeastern India and southern Bhutan that lie south of the outer foothills of the Himalayas and north of the Brahmaputra River basin. Kosi River
The Kosi or Koshi is a transboundary river which flows through China, Nepal and India. It drains the northern slopes of the Himalayas in Tibet and the southern slopes in Nepal. From a major confluence of tributaries north of the Chatra Gorge onwards, the Kosi River is also known as the Saptakoshi (, ) for its seven upper tributaries. These include the Tamur River originating from the Kanchenjunga area in the east and Arun River and the Sun Kosi from Tibet.
