Asoiva Karpani
Asoiva Karpani (born 18 June 1996) is an Australian rugby union footballer who plays for the NSW Waratahs in the Super W. She is an Australian Wallaroos representative, she previously played for the St George Illawarra Dragons in the NRL Women's Premiership. Background Karpani is the sister of Newcastle Knights NRLW player Simone Karpani. Playing career Rugby union Born in Queensland and raised in Adelaide, South Australia, Karpani played for Onkaparinga and Brighton before representing the Australian Youth rugby sevens team at the 2013 Australian Youth Olympic Festival. In 2017, she played for the University of Adelaide at the Aon University Sevens. In 2018, she moved to Sydney and joined the NSW Waratahs Super W team for 2019 season. St George Illawarra
The St. George Illawarra Dragons is an Australian professional rugby league football club, representing both the Illawarra and St George regions of New South Wales. The club has competed in the National Rugby League since 1999 after a joint-venture was formed between the St. George Dragons (est. 1921) and the Illawarra Steelers (est. 1982). They officially formed as the game's first joint-venture club on 23 September 1998 and it remains the only inter-city team in the NRL. 2018 NRL Women's Season
The 2018 NRL Women's Premiership (NRLW) was the first season of professional women's rugby league in Australia. Teams Pre-season Only two of the four sides, the Brisbane Broncos and New Zealand Warriors, took part in pre-season trial games. The Warriors played two fixtures against a combined Auckland side, while the Broncos played the Papua New Guinea Orchids as a curtain-raiser to the Brisbane Broncos-Manly Sea Eagles NRL fixture.
