A-Bomb Abomination Absorbing Man Abraxas Abyss Abyss is the name of two characters appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. Nils Styger Abyss is a mutant and the half-brother of Nightcrawler. He was created by Scott Lobdell, Mark Waid, Roger Cruz, and Steve Epting, and he first appeared in ''Age of Apocalypse: Alpha'', which takes place in an alternate reality. The ''Age of Apocalypse'' version of the character is a Horsemen of Apocalypse and a living portal who can send others to another dimension. Years after the ''Age of Apocalypse'' event ended, the character was introduced in the main Marvel Universe. This version is Nils Styger, a native of Genosha who possesses the additional ability to transform parts of his body into elastic tendrils.
