Asmar Latin Sani
Asmar Latin Sani ( – 5 August 2003) was the suicide bomber from West Sumatra who detonated a car bomb outside the lobby of the JW Marriott Hotel in Jakarta, Indonesia. His severed head was later found on the fifth floor of the building. Before the bombing, Azahari Husin stayed with Asmar Latin Sani, at his home in Bengkulu on the island of Sumatra, Indonesia. On 5 May 2006, the International Crisis Group released a report entitled ''Terrorism in Indonesia''. It described the events leading up the attack; In January 2003, Rais, Noordin and Azahari moved to Bengkulu, where a group of JI members lived, including Asmar Latin Sani, who became the Marriott suicide bomber. Noordin and Azahari planned the bombing there as a way of putting the explosives to good use. 2005 Bali Bombings
The 2005 Bali bombings were a series of terrorist attacks that occurred on 1 October 2005 in Bali, Indonesia. Bombs were detonated at two sites in Jimbaran Beach resort and in Kuta away, both in south Bali. The attacks claimed the lives of 20 people and injured more than 100 others. In Indonesia, the attacks was known as the Second Bali Bombing (Indonesian: ) to distinguish it from the 2002 attacks. Explosions The Indonesian national news agency, ANTARA, reported that the first two explosions occurred at 6:50 p.m. local time, near a Jimbaran food court and the third at 7:00 pm. in Kuta Town Square. Australian Embassy Bombing In Jakarta
A one-tonne car bomb, which was packed into a small Daihatsu delivery van, exploded outside the Australian embassy at Kuningan District, South Jakarta, at about 10:30 local time (03:30 UTC) on 9 September 2004, killing 9 people including the suicide bomber, and wounding over 150 others. The explosion gutted the Greek embassy on the 12th floor of an adjacent building, where three diplomats were slightly wounded. Damage to the nearby Chinese embassy was also reported. Numerous office buildings surrounding the embassy were also damaged by the blast, which shattered windows in buildings away, injuring many workers inside, mostly by broken glass. A dispute ensued as to how many civilians were killed by the explosion: local health authorities in Jakarta reported 9 deaths, compared to 11 deaths reported by Australian officials. 2002 Bali Bombings
The 2002 Bali bombings were a series of terrorist attacks on 12 October 2002 in the tourist district of Kuta on the Indonesian island of Bali. The attacks killed 202 people (including 88 Australians, 38 Indonesians, 23 Britons, and people of more than 20 other nationalities) and injured a further 209. General Da'i Bachtiar, the National Police Chief at the time, said that the bombings was the "worst act of terror in Indonesia's history".
