Asin (actress)
Asin Thottumkal (born 26 October 1985), known mononyomusly as Asin, is an Indian former actress who appeared predominantly in Tamil, Hindi and Telugu films. Asin is a recipient of several accolades including a Filmfare Award, two Filmfare Awards South and four SIIMA Awards. The Government of Tamil Nadu honoured her with the state's highest civilian award Kalaimamani, in 2009. Asin is considered as one of the leading South Indian actresses of the 2000s and is referred to as the "Queen of Kollywood". A trained Bharatanatyam dancer, Asin made her acting debut at 15 in Sathyan Anthikkad's Malayalam film ''Narendran Makan Jayakanthan Vaka'' (2001). ''Ghajini'' () is a 2008 Indian Hindi-language action thriller film directed by A. R. Murugadoss (in his Hindi film debut) from a screenplay by Murugadoss and Aamir Khan. 2nd South Indian International Movie Awards
The 2nd South Indian International Movie Awards were presented on 12–13 September 2013 in Sharjah, UAE, to honour the best cinematic achievements of the South Indian film industry in the year 2012. Initially planned for 20–21 June, the date was postponed due to "100 years of Indian cinema" jubilee festivities.
