Asian Equestrian Federation
The Asian Equestrian Federation is the governing body of equestrian in Asia. It is one of the five continental confederations making up the International Federation for Equestrian Sports. AEF was formed in 1978 in Bangkok, Thailand. AEF has headquarters in Doha, Qatar and consists of 35 member federations. The Equestrian Federation of Pakistan (EFP) is the national governing body to promote and develop equestrian sports in Pakistan. Sahibzada Sultan Muhammad Ali is the current president of EFP. History It was formed in 1980 and was under the control of Pakistan Army. However, in 2013, the EFP Board of Directors decided to shift its headquarters to Pakistan Rangers. Equestrian Federation Of India
The Equestrian Federation of India (EFI) is the governing body for equestrian sports in India. History Most civilians could not afford to own horses in the period following India's independence, and equestrian sports were primarily practiced by Indian Army officers. The Army re-established several major horse shows across the country that had been halted during World War II. In 1950s, the Army began seeking opportunities to send riders to compete at international events. However, all international competitions were conducted by the Fédération Équestre Internationale (FEI) which required participating riders to be sent by national federations. As India did not have such a federation, the Army established the Equestrian Federation of India (EFI) in 1967. General P.P. Kumaramangalam, Major General R.K.R.
