Asia Express (horse)
Asia Express ( ja, アジアエクスプレス, link=no, foaled 9 February 2011) is an American-bred, Japan-based Thoroughbred racehorse and sire. He was bred in Florida and exported as a two-year-old to Japan where he began his career on dirt and won two races before switching to turf to win the Asahi Hai Futurity Stakes. At the end of the year he was the top-rated juvenile in Japan and took the JRA Award for Best Two-Year-Old Colt. In the following year he was beaten in the Spring Stakes and the Satsuki Sho before reverting to dirt and winning the Leopard Stakes. He raced sporadically over the next two seasons but never won again. Background Asia Express is a chestnut horse standing 1.66 metres high with white socks on his hind leg bred in Florida by Ocala Farm. Henny Hughes
Henny Hughes is a thoroughbred race horse. A foal of 2003, he was a contender for the Triple Crown in 2006. He was taken off the Triple Crown trail in March 2006, then recorded three sprint victories in stakes races before failing in the Breeders' Cup Sprint, finishing 14th and last. He was retired to stud at the end of the 2006 racing season. His best-known offspring is the champion mare Beholder. Connections Henny Hughes is owned by Zabeel Racing International and was originally trained by Patrick Biancone but was later transferred to Kiaran McLaughlin. Mehthaaf
Mehthaaf (foaled 3 February 1991) was an American-bred, British-trained Thoroughbred racehorse and broodmare. She showed great promise as a two-year-old in 1993, winning on her second racecourse appearance and going on to finish third in both the Lowther Stakes and the Prix Marcel Boussac. As a three-year-old she won the Nell Gwyn Stakes and ran fourth when favourite for the 1000 Guineas before winning the Irish 1,000 Guineas. Later in the season she produced arguably her best performance with an emphatic victory over male opponents in the Celebration Mile. She also ran third in the Coronation Stakes and Prix Jacques Le Marois as well as finishing fourth in the Champion Stakes. Fantasy Stakes
The Fantasy Stakes is a Grade III American Thoroughbred horse race for three-year-old fillies at a distance of one and one-sixteenth miles on the dirt run annually usually in early April at Oaklawn Park Race Track in Hot Springs, Arkansas. The event currently offers a purse of $600,000. History The inaugural running of the event was on 6 April 1973 and was won by Robert E. Lehmann's Knitted Gloves coming from behind by lengths in a time of 1:42. After three runnings the event was upgraded to Grade II status in 1976 and in 1978 was once again upgraded to a Grade I, signifying that the race was a major event for the three-year-old fillies. Odds provide a measure of the likelihood of a particular outcome. They are calculated as the ratio of the number of events that produce that outcome to the number that do not. Odds are commonly used in gambling and statistics. Ryan Lee Moore (born 18 September 1983) is an English flat racing jockey, who was Champion Jockey in 2006, 2008 and 2009. Physical attributes Nakayama Race Course has two grass courses, a dirt course, and a jump course. The turf's measures 1840m (1 1/8 miles + 97 feet) with a 1600m and a 2200m chute, and the measures 1667m (1 mile + 189 feet) with a 1400m chute. Graded Stakes Race
A graded stakes race is a thoroughbred horse race in the United States that meets the criteria of the American Graded Stakes Committee of the Thoroughbred Owners and Breeders Association (TOBA). A specific grade level (I, II, III or listed) is then assigned to the race, based on statistical analysis of the quality of the field in previous years, provided the race meets the minimum purse criteria for the grade in question. In Canada, a similar grading system is maintained by the Jockey Club of Canada. Graded stakes races are similar to Group races in Europe but the grading is more dynamic in North America.
