Ashutosh Dixit
Air Marshal Ashutosh Dixit, AVSM, VM, VSM is a serving officer of the Indian Air Force. He is currently serving as the Chief of Integrated Defence Staff. He assumed the post on 1 May 2025 after the superannuation of Lieutenant General Johnson P Mathew. He was previously serving as the Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief Central Air Command , prior to that he served as the Senior Air Staff Officer, South Western Air Command. Early life and education He is an alumnus of National Defence Academy, Pune and the Air Force Academy, Dundigal. He is also an alumnus of Defence Services Staff College, Bangladesh and National Defence College and National Defence College, New Delhi. Vishisht Seva Medal
The Vishisht Seva Medal (VSM, ) is a decoration of the Indian Armed Forces. It is awarded to recognize "distinguished service of a high order" to all ranks of the Indian Armed Forces. From 1980, the Yudh Seva Medal was introduced to recognize exceptional services in an operational environment. Since then the VSM has been restricted to non-operational service. History The Vishisht Seva Medal was originally instituted as the "Vishisht Seva Medal, Class III" on 26 January 1960. The Dassault Mirage 2000 is a French multirole, single-engine, delta wing, fourth-generation jet fighter manufactured by Dassault Aviation. Dundigal Air Force Station
Indian Air Force Academy, Dundigal is a Defence Service training institute located in Medchal-Malkajgiri district from Hyderabad, in the Indian state of Telangana. The academy was set up to train cadets from the Indian Air Force cadre of officers. It imparts training to the flying, technical and ground duty branches as well as officers of the Indian Navy & the Indian Coast Guard. The National Defence Academy (NDA) is the joint Military, defence service training institute of the Indian Armed Forces. Here, cadets of the Indian Army, Indian Navy, and Indian Air Force train together before they go on to their respective service academies for further pre-commission training. South Western Air Command, Indian Air Force
The South Western Air Command (SWAC) is one of the five operational commands of the Indian Air Force, headquartered in Gandhinagar. It was raised in Jodhpur in July 1980 from the No.1 Operations Group of the Western Air Command. Its operations sector includes most of Rajasthan, through Gujarat and Saurashtra, as far south as Kutch and Pune.
