Abbas Eqbal Ashtiani
Abbas Eqbal Ashtiani (; 1896-97 – February 10, 1956) was an Iranian literary scholar, historian, translator, and man of letters. Eqbal Ashtiani was born in Ashtian. He was educated at Dar ul-Funun (Persia), Dar ul-Funun (House of Sciences) in Tehran and University of Paris. In 1944 Eqbal founded the monthly periodical ''Yādgār''. Ebrahim Ashtiani
Ebrahim Ashtiani (Persian: ابراهیم اشتیانی; January 1942 – 24 October 2017) was an Iranian football player. He played for the Iran national football team and spent most of his career at Persepolis. His son Ardalan is also a professional football player. Club career First years He began his playing career with Boostan and Poolad (under-19 and under-23 team of Shahin) and was promoted to the first team in 1964, by Abbas Ekrami. He showed good performances and became one of the starting players after the 1966–67 season. He received a red card in a match against Tehranjavan, this led to an involvement between players and coaches. Two days after the match, IFF (Iran's football association) ruled a one-year suspension for Shahin but club officials announced the dissolution of Shahin. Sakineh Mohammadi Ashtiani (; born 1967) is an Iranian woman convicted of conspiracy to commit murder and adultery. She gained international notoriety for originally being sentenced to death by stoning for her crimes. Her sentence was commuted and she was released in 2014 after serving nine years on death row. Biography Ashtiani is an Iranian Azeri born in Tabriz in the Persian calendar 1347 (1967–1968) and grew up in the rural town of Osku, East Azerbaijan Province, Iran. Sakineh worked outside her home for two years as a kindergarten teacher. Arrest and conviction Ashtiani was arrested in 2005 on charges of adultery and conspiracy to commit murder of her husband. In 2006, the court sentenced her to death by stoning after she was convicted.
