Ashraf Ali Thanwi
Ashraf Ali Thanwi (often referred as Hakimul Ummat and Mujaddidul Millat; 19 August 1863 – 20 July 1943) was an Indian Sunni Muslim scholar, jurist, thinker, reformist and a revivor of classical Sufi in the Indian subcontinent during the British Raj. He was a central figure of Islamic spiritual, intellectual and religious life in South Asia and continues to be highly influential today. He wrote over a thousand works including '' Bayan Ul Quran'' and '' Bahishti Zewar''. He was also one of the chief proponents of the Pakistan Movement. He graduated from Darul Uloom Deoband in 1883 and moved to Kanpur, then Thana Bhawan to direct the Khanqah-i-Imdadiyah, where he resided until his death. His training in Quran, hadith, fiqh studies and Sufism qualified him to become a leading Sunni authority among the scholars of Deoband. Thana Bhawan
Thana Bhawan is a town in Shamli district (formerly part of Muzaffarnagar district) in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh. It was known as Prabuddhnagar first time, when this district came into focus. It is situated on Delhi–Shamli national highway, it is 100 km away from Delhi, 45 km from Saharanpur, 38 km from Muzaffarnagar and 59.6 km away from Panipat (Haryana). ''Imdad al-Fatawa'' (), also known as ''Fatawa Ashrafia'', is a collection of fatwas in the Hanafi fiqh compiled by Ashraf Ali Thanwi, a scholar from India who addressed new issues and challenges. Muhammad Shafi
Muhammad Shafi (24 January 1897 – 6 October 1976), often referred to as Mufti Muhammad Shafi, was a Pakistani Sunni Islamic scholar of the Deobandi school, a Hanafi jurist and mufti, he was also an authority on shari'ah, hadith, Qur'anic exegesis, and Sufism. Born in Deoband, British India, he graduated in 1917 from Darul Uloom Deoband, where he later taught hadith and held the post of Head mufti. He resigned in 1943 to devote his time to the Pakistan Movement. After the independence he moved to Pakistan, where he established Darul Uloom Karachi in 1951. Shah Ahmad Hasan (), was a Bangladeshi Islamic scholar and educationist. He was an early student of Al-Jamiatul Ahlia Darul Ulum Moinul Islam in Hathazari. Hasan established Al-Jameatul Arabiatul Islamia Ziri, which was the second Qawmi madrasa of Bangladesh. Early life and education Ahmad Hasan was born in 1882 to a Bengali Muslim family in the village of Jiri in western Patiya Upazila, Patiya under the Chittagong District of the Bengal Presidency. Abrarul Haq Haqqi
Abrarul Haq Haqqi (20 December 1920 — 17 May 2006) was an Indian people, Indian Sunni Muslim scholar who established Ashraful Madaris in Hardoi. He was a disciple of Ashraf Ali Thanwi. Biography Haqqi was born on 20 December 1920 in Hardoi. He graduated from Mazahir Uloom. Haqqi was appointed a teacher in Mazahir Uloom after his graduation. He later taught at Jami-ul-Uloom Kanpur, a seminary in Kanpur, for two years. At Ashraf Ali Thanwi's suggestion, he taught at Madrasa Islamia Fatehpur for two years. In 1942, he established Ashraful Madaris in Hardoi at the suggestion of Ashraf Ali Thanwi. Since, he was also a Sufi mentor, he authorized 103 disciples. Haqqi died on 17 May 2006. Aziz Al-Hasan Ghouri
Aziz al-Hasan Ghouri (also known as Aziz al-Hasan Majzoob or Khwaja Aziz al-Hasan; 12 June 1884 – 17 August 1944) was an Indian Islamic scholar, poet and the primary biographer of Ashraf Ali Thanwi. He was an alumnus of Muhammadan Anglo-Oriental College and an authorized disciple of Ashraf Ali Thanwi in Sufism. Ghouri held the titles of Khan Sahib and Khan Bahadur.
