Ashley Allen is an American comic book writer who has written for Marvel and DC Comics. As of January 2025, she was the writer for the ''Magik'' ongoing series at Marvel. Early life and education Allen is from Orono, Minnesota, and grew up with apraxia. She graduated from Macalester College in 2021. Career Allen was a member of the inaugural class of the Milestone Initiative Program, which was announced in March 2022. As part of the program, she contributed a story to the one-shot ''New Talent Showcase: The Milestone Initiative'' in 2023. She also wrote a story for the anthology ''DC's Legion of Bloom''. In June 2023, she was announced as one of the writers for the first issue of '' Marvel Zombies: Black, White & Blood'', her first story for Marvel. Orono ( , ) is a city in Hennepin County, Minnesota, Hennepin County, Minnesota, United States. It is a suburb of Minneapolis located about to the west on the north shore of Lake Minnetonka. The population was 7,437 at the 2010 United States Census, 2010 census. The city was named after Orono, Maine by early resident George A. Brackett. Orono is the largest municipality by area on Lake Minnetonka and is largely residential. History Orono was originally part of Excelsior, Minnesota, Excelsior Township. is a pseudonymous Japanese comic book artist and writer. In 2020, she signed an exclusive deal with Marvel Comics as part of their Stormbreakers program for rising talent in the American comic book industry. In 2021, she received both the Eisner Award and Ringo Award for best cover artist. That same year, she launched the "Momoko-verse", a line of comics at Marvel that reimagines the Marvel Universe within the lens of Japanese folktales.
