Ash Avildsen
Ashley Gregory Avildsen (born November 5, 1981) is an American film director, screenwriter, producer, and the founder and CEO of Sumerian Records and Sumerian Films. The son of director John G. Avildsen, he wrote and directed the film ''American Satan'' (2017) and the scripted series ''Paradise City (2021 TV series), Paradise City'' (2021). Reflux Avildsen was the vocalist of metalcore band The Illusion of Democracy, Reflux in the early 2000s, which also featured Tosin Abasi (Animals As Leaders) and Evan Brewer (Fallujah, formerly of The Faceless, Animosity (band), Animosity and Entheos). The band released one album "The Illusion of Democracy" album via Prosthetic Records in 2004 before breaking up shortly after. Rotten Tomatoes is an American review aggregator, review-aggregation website for film and television. The company was launched in August 1998 by three undergraduate students at the University of California, Berkeley: Senh Duong, Patrick Y. Lee, and Stephen Wang. Although the name "Rotten Tomatoes" connects to the practice of audiences throwing rotten tomatoes in disapproval of a poor Theatre, stage performance, the direct inspiration for the name from Duong, Lee, and Wang came from an equivalent scene in the 1992 Canadian film ''Léolo''. The first season aired in April 2022 on Sumerian Records YouTube channel. The competition had Alice Cooper, Lzzy Hale, Gavin Rossdale, Tosin Abasi and Bishop Briggs as judges. ''The Discovery'' is the second studio album by American progressive metalcore band Born of Osiris. It was released through Sumerian Records on March 22, 2011. It is also the first Born of Osiris record to make use of seven string guitars, and was produced solely by members of the band. Early demo versions of some of the album's songs were produced and mixed by Misha Mansoor, but the final retail release was mixed by Jason Suecof. ''The Discovery'' is the only release by the band to feature guitarist Jason Richardson as he would later get fired from the group in December 2011.
