Asante Tyrell Samuel Jr. (born October 3, 1999) is an American professional American football, football cornerback. He played college football for the Florida State Seminoles football, Florida State Seminoles and was selected by the Los Angeles Chargers in the second round of the 2021 NFL draft. Early life Samuel was born on October 3, 1999, in Fort Lauderdale, Florida to Asante Samuel, Asante Samuel Sr. and Candice Doe. Samuel credits his grandmother, Christine Samuel, for helping raise him and being an important person in his life. When he was 14, his mother was diagnosed with a brain tumor, from which she recovered after surgery.
