Asad Durrani
Asad Ahmed Durrani (; born 7 February 1941) is a retired 3-star rank general in the Pakistan Army and presently a commentator, speaker and author. Durrani previously served as the 10th Director General of the ISI and former Director General of the Pakistan Army's Military Intelligence. Early life and education Durrani was born in 1941 in Rawalpindi, British India into a Durrani Pathan family. From 1957 to 1959, he attended the Government College of Lahore, now a university, where he received a Bachelor of Science degree. Military career He joined the Pakistan Army in 1959. and subsequently joined the Pakistan Military Academy In 1960, he was commissioned as Second Lieutenant in the army as a gunner officer. As a captain he participated in the Indo-Pakistani war of 1965, where he commanded his company. In 1968, he was promoted to major. He also took part in the 1971 war against India. Hilal-i-Imtiaz
The ''Hilal-e-Imtiaz'' (; ), also spelled as ''Hilal-i-Imtiaz,'' is the second-highest (in the order of "Imtiaz") civilian award and honour given to both civilians and military officers of the Pakistan Armed Forces by the Government of Pakistan. It recognises individuals who have made an "especially meritorious contribution to the security or national interests of Pakistan, world peace, cultural or other significant public endeavors". It is a civilian award, and not limited to the citizens of Pakistan. The honour is restricted to individuals who have made outstanding contributions in their fields that led to international recognition for the state. Pakistan Military Academy (PMA) is a military academy located nearby Kakul village in Abbottabad, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan. Established in October 1947, it is the only service academy in Pakistan that trains cadets to serve as army officers. For educational training, the institution is accredited by the National University of Sciences & Technology. The PMA hosts approximately 2,000 guests representing over 34 countries annually. Durrani
The Durrānī (, ), formerly known as Abdālī (), are one of the largest Pashtun tribes, tribal confederation of Pashtuns.
