Asa'ad Bin Tariq Al Said
Sayyid Asa'ad bin Tariq Al Said (; born 20 June 1954) is a member of the Omani royal family and the Deputy Prime Minister for Relations and International Cooperation Affairs. Early life Asa'ad is the son of Sayyid Tariq bin Taimur bin Faisal Al Said and his second wife, Sayyida Shawana bint Hamud bin Ahmad Al Busaidiyah. His half brothers include Sultan Haitham bin Tariq and Sayyid Shihab bin Tariq, the Deputy Prime Minister for Defense Affairs. He was educated at Al Saidiya School in Muscat and Millfield School in Somerset. He earned a bachelor's degree from the military school at King's College, London in 1986 and then graduated from the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst. The House of Al Bu Said (, ), is the current ruling royal family of Oman, and former ruling house of the Omani Empire (1744–1856), Muscat and Oman, Sultanate of Muscat and Oman (1856–1970) and the Sultanate of Zanzibar (1856–1964). Sultan Turki bin Said bin Sultan Al Busaidi (; 1832 – 4 June 1888), was Sultan of Muscat and Oman from 30 January 1871 to 4 June 1888. He acceded following his victory over his cousin, Iman Azzan bin Qais at the Battle of Dhank. On Turki's death, he was succeeded by his second son, Faisal bin Turki. Early life Turki was born in 1832 to Sultan Said bin Sultan and an Ethiopian concubine. His father appointed him the Wali of Sohar in 1854. In 1861, he revolted against his brother, Thuwaini bin Said, who had succeeded his father as Sultan of Oman. The division of Muscat and Zanzibar meant that Sohar would be under the authority of Thuwaini which Turki refused to accept. The Order of King Abdulaziz (Arabic: وسام الملك عبد العزيز Wisām al-malik ‘Abd al-‘Azīz) is a Saudi Arabian order of merit. The order was named after Abdulaziz Al Saud, founder of the modern Saudi state. History In 1971, the introduction of orders was announced in a decree.
