Arvid Møller
Arvid Møller (14 October 1939 – 26 September 2020) was a Norwegian journalist and non-fiction writer, born in Strinda Municipality. Having worked as journalist for various newspapers, he was eventually assigned with NRK for about forty years. In addition to these assignments, he wrote more than one hundred books, many of them biographies of well known and lesser known people. Career Born in Strinda Municipality on 14 October 1939, Møller grew up in Voss Municipality. From 1959 onwards Møller worked as journalist for the newspapers '' Gula Tidend'', '' Fredrikstad Blad'', ''Gudbrandsdølen'', ''Lillehammer Tilskuer'' and '' Dagningen''. From 1969 he was appointed as journalist at NRK's regional office in Lillehammer, where he worked for about forty years. Strinda Municipality
Strinda is a former municipality in the old Sør-Trøndelag county, Norway. The municipality existed from 1838 until its dissolution in 1964. The municipality encompassed the eastern part of what is now Trondheim Municipality south and east of the main city center all the way southeast to the lake Jonsvatnet. Strinda Municipality originally included what is now Malvik Municipality as well. The western part of the municipality was heavily urbanized, while the areas further east and south were more suburban. The administrative centre was actually located in the neighboring city of Trondheim, just across the Nidelva river on the ''Kjøpmansgata'' road. John Alvheim
John Ingolf Alvheim (21 May 1930 – 5 December 2005) was a Norwegian politician for the Progress Party. He was a nurse anesthetist by profession, and served as aid worker in several developing countries during the 1970s. Alvheim was highly respected, also by his political opponents, for his vigorous fight for society's disadvantaged. Personal life Alvheim was born in Øygarden, Hordaland, to fisherman and farmer Joakim Knutsen Alvheim (1893–1958) and housewife Ingeborg Larsen (1895–1972). From 1954 to 1956 he worked in the Norwegian Navy as a Medical Quartermaster, and finished his education as a nurse anesthetist. Dagfinn Bakke (16 August 1933 – 1 January 2019) was a Norwegian painter, illustrator and printmaker. Career Bakke was born in Lødingen Municipality, and settled in Svolvær. From 1952 he worked as illustrator for the magazine '' Magasinet For Alle''. From 1956 to 1992 he was appointed as illustrator for the newspaper ''Lofotposten'', where he had a regular column which he signed as ''DAN''. The King's Medal of Merit (Norwegian: ''Kongens fortjenstmedalje'') is a Norwegian award. It was instituted in 1908 to reward meritorious achievements in the fields of art, science, business, and public service. It is divided in two classes: gold and silver. The medal in gold is rewarded for extraordinary achievements of importance to the nation and society while the medal in silver may be awarded for lesser achievements.It is suspended from a ribbon in the colours of the Royal Standard of Norway. Gudbrandsdalen (; ) is a valley and Districts of Norway, traditional district in the Norway, Norwegian county of Innlandet (formerly Oppland).
