Artūrs Mārtiņš Žagars (born 21 April 2000) is a Latvian professional basketball player for Fenerbahçe Beko of the Turkish Basketbol Süper Ligi, BSL and the EuroLeague. Standing at , he primarily plays at the point guard position. Professional career Early career Žagars spent much of his early career playing for Latvian club BS DSN Riga. Joventut Badalona In 2017, Žagars signed a long-term contract with Spanish club Club Joventut Badalona, Joventut Badalona. The FIBA U18 EuroBasket is the new name for the FIBA U18 European Championship, originally known as the FIBA European Championship for Juniors. It is a men's youth basketball competition that was inaugurated with the 1964 edition. It was held biennially through the 2002 edition. From the 2004 edition onward, it has been held every year. The point guard (PG), also called the one or the point, is one of the Basketball positions, five positions in a regulation basketball game. A point guard has perhaps the most specialized role of any position and is usually the shortest player on the court. Point guards are expected to control the pace of the game.
