Arturo Camacho Ramírez
Arturo Camacho Ramírez (1910-1982) was a Colombian poet. He was born in Ibagué, Tolima. He studied law at the National University, but never finished his degree. In 1935 he became the first of the Piedracielistas to publish a book of poetry, ''Espejo de naufragios'', although he had already written several poems for literary magazines of the time. Besides being a poet, he was a diplomat and journalist. He served as the representative of Colombia to UNESCO in Paris and as a special curator in La Guajira, where he met Olga Castaño Castillo, who would later become his wife and the inspiration for his only play, ''Luna de arena''. Ibagué
Ibagué () (referred to as San Bonifacio de Ibagué del Valle de las Lanzas during the New Kingdom of Granada, Spanish period) is the capital of Tolima Department, Tolima, one of the 32 departments that make up the Republic of Colombia. The city is located in the center of the country, on the central mountain range of the Colombian Andes, near Nevado del Tolima. It is one of the most populous cities in the country, with a population of 500 thousand people approximately, making it the eleventh most populous in Colombia, and with a population of 544,132 in the municipality. Tolima Department
Tolima () is one of the 32 departments of Colombia, located in the Andean region, in the center-west of the country. It is bordered on the north and the west by the department of Caldas; on the east by the department of Cundinamarca; on the south by the department of Huila, and on the west by the departments of Cauca, Valle del Cauca, Quindío and Risaralda. Piedracielistas
Stone and sky () was a Colombian literary movement that appeared in 1939 and whose name is taken from the title of a 1919 poetry book published by Juan Ramón Jiménez. Members of this literary movement were often called ''piedracielistas''. The movement corresponds to a generation of writer born between 1910 and 1915. There was no formal manifesto or school for the movement. Characteristics of this group were, among many others, hypersensitivity, and emotion and insolence against consecrated and canonized forms. Juan Lozano y Lozano was a prominent critic of the movement. La Guajira
La Guajira () is a departments of Colombia, department of Colombia. It occupies most of the Guajira Peninsula in the northeast region of the country, on the Caribbean Sea and bordering Venezuela, at the northernmost tip of South America. ''El Espectador'' () is a nationally circulated Colombian newspaper founded by Fidel Cano Gutiérrez in 1887 in Medellín and published since 1915 in Bogotá. It was initially published twice a week, 500 issues each, but some years later became a daily paper. As the oldest newspaper in Colombia still in circulation'', El Espectador'' is considered a newspaper of record for Colombia and a home for prominent writers, including the 1982 Nobel Prize Laurete Gabriel García Márquez.
