Arttu Ruotsalainen
Arttu Ruotsalainen (born 29 October 1997) is a Finnish professional ice hockey forward for Frölunda HC of the Swedish Hockey League (SHL). Playing career Ruotsalainen first played as a youth within hometown club, Oulun Kärpät. As a 14-year old he played at the under-16 level in 2011–12, edging out teammate and future NHL player Sebastian Aho, to lead the team in scoring with 24 goals and 59 points. He shared fourth place in the C Junior Championship with Alex Olkinuora of Tappara. In the following 2012–13 season, Ruotsalainen played the majority of the year at the under-18 level, returning to strengthen the under-16 team for the postseason where he won the C Youth Championship series in 2013 with 27 points in just 11 games. Ruotsalainen continued his ascension up the junior levels playing the majority of the 2013–14 season at the under-20 league, the Nuorten SM-liiga. The Liiga, colloquially called the Finnish Elite League in English or FM-ligan in Swedish, is the top professional ice hockey league in Finland. The league comprises 16 teams from all around Finland with relegation and promotion between the Mestis. The winner of the Liiga playoffs is awarded the Kanada-malja at the end of each season. 2021–22 NHL Season
The 2021–22 NHL season was the 105th season of operation (104th season of play) of the National Hockey League (NHL). The league expanded to 32 teams with the addition of the Seattle Kraken. The league had an October-to-April regular season scheduling and a full 82-game regular season for the first time since the 2018–19 NHL season as the previous two NHL seasons were shortened due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The league also restored its pre-COVID-19 Eastern and Western conferences. The season began on October 12. 2017–18 Liiga Season
The 2017–18 SM-liiga season was the 43rd season of the SM-liiga (branded simply as "Liiga"), the top level of ice hockey in Finland, since the league's formation in 1975. Tappara was the season as a defending champion. This season included a record number of matches played on Fridays and Saturdays. In autumn, there was a national team break from 5 November until 13 November. The specialties of the season included, for the first time in SM-liiga history, double games between KooKoo and Vaasan Sport.
