The station is an important junction, where the Zug–Arth-Goldau line joins the main line of the Gotthard line, and also where the Südostbahn-owned Pfäffikon–Arth-Goldau line diverges. Arth is a village, a town, and a municipality in Schwyz District in the canton of Schwyz in Switzerland. The municipality consists of the villages Arth, Oberarth, and Goldau. The four settlements Rigi Kulm, Rigi First, Rigi Klösterli, and Rigi Staffel on the mountain Rigi to the west of Arth are also part of the municipality.
