Artemio Franchi
Artemio Franchi () (8 January 1922 – 12 August 1983) was an Italian football administrator. Biography He served as the President of the Italian Football Federation (1967–1976, 1978–1980), as the UEFA President (1973–1983), and as a member of the FIFA Executive Committee (1974–1983). He died in a road accident near Siena on 12 August 1983. The home stadium of ACF Fiorentina and that of A.C. Siena Associazione Calcio Robur Siena 1904, commonly referred to as Siena, is an Football in Italy, Italian football club based in Siena, Tuscany. Sándor Barcs
Sándor Barcs (10 November 1912 – 7 January 2010) was a Hungarian journalist, politician, sports executive and amateur footballer. He was the Acting President of UEFA between July 1972 and March 1973. In 2003, Sándor Dorogi, on behalf of the MTI news agency, presented him with the "Golden Ring" award, which met with a divided response in journalistic circles due to the honoree's not uncontroversial political past (he was, among other things, a presiding judge at the show trial and co-signer of the death sentence against László Rajk). Stadio Artemio Franchi (Siena)
The Stadio Artemio Franchi is a football stadium in Florence, Italy. It is currently the home of ACF Fiorentina. The old nickname of the stadium was "Comunale." When it was first constructed, it was known as the ''Stadio Giovanni Berta'', after Florentine fascist Giovanni Berta. The stadium was officially opened on 13 September 1931 with a match between Fiorentina and Admira Wien (1–0), though it took until 1932 for the stadium to be completely finished and currently holds 47,282. The architect is Pier Luigi Nervi (known for the Nervi Hall in the Vatican) and it is one of the most relevant examples of 20th-century architecture in the city. It hosted some of the matches of the 1934 World Cup, as well as football preliminaries for the 1960 Summer Olympics in Rome. In 1945, it hosted the Spaghetti Bowl between American service teams.
