Artan Mehmeti
Artan Mehmeti (born 1 April 1975) is a Kosovan former professional basketball player who played for several clubs of the Kosovo Basketball Superleague. Mehmeti was one of the most successful Kosovan playmakers in the 1990s and in the beginning of the 21st century. Career Mehmeti started his career with his hometown club Trepça in 1992. He won the Kosovo League in 1992 with Trepça. Mehmeti played for Shkëndija and Drita in 1995–1998. During the Kosovo War, Mehmeti played for the Westminster Warriors of the NBL. After the war, he returned to Trepça winning the Kosovo Superleague in 2001. Mehmeti was selected the MVP of that season. The point guard (PG), also called the one or the point, is one of the Basketball positions, five positions in a regulation basketball game. A point guard has perhaps the most specialized role of any position and is usually the shortest player on the court. Point guards are expected to control the pace of the game. They effectively "run" the team's offense by controlling the ball and making sure that it gets to the right player at the right time. Generally, point guards are expected to be proficient in passing the ball and being able to get Assist (basketball), assists to teammates.
