Art Borjal
Arturo "Art" Acosta Borjal (April 15, 1938 – June 6, 2002) was a Filipino journalist, newspaper president and co-founder, legislator, and lawyer. ''Jaywalker'' was the daily column of Borjal for years at the Philippine Star. Early life and education Being crippled by polio at the age of three, Borjal was carried by his mother on her back to attend school. He had leg braces and crutches and went on to finish humanities and law studies at Ateneo de Manila University while tripling as editor-in-chief of '' The Guidon'', president of the debating team and the Supreme Student Council. As congressman for the disabled President Corazon Aquino appointed Borjal as a congressman for the disabled, one of its sectoral representatives in the 8th Congress. Emmanuel Pelaez
Emmanuel Neri Pelaez (November 30, 1915 – July 27, 2003) was a Filipino public servant and politician who served as the 6th Vice President of the Philippines from 1961 to 1965. Early life and career Pelaez was born in Medina, Misamis (now part of Misamis Oriental) to Gregorio Aguilar Pelaez, Sr. and Felipa Vicente Neri (second wife). He was fourth among eight children between Gregorio and Felipa: Rosario, Concepción, Gregorio Jr., Emmanuel, Jose Ma., Lourdes, Antonio, and Carmen. He studied in Cagayan de Misamis (former name of Cagayan de Oro) Elementary School where he got the highest honors. He then went to the Ateneo de Manila High School and got his Associate in Arts at the Cebu UP Junior College. Alfonso Tiaoqui Yuchengco (; February 6, 1923 – April 15, 2017) was a Filipino accountant, banker, businessman of one of the largest family-owned Conglomerate (company), conglomerates in the Philippines. Rizal Commercial Banking Corporation, RCBC is one of the country's largest commercial banks, near Mapúa University, and the Malayan School and Colleges located in Makati, with branches in Paco, Davao and Laguna. Max Soliven
Maximo Villaflor Soliven (September 4, 1929 – November 24, 2006) was a Filipino journalist and newspaper publisher. In a career spanning six decades, he founded the ''Philippine Star'' and served as its publisher until his death. Background Soliven was born on September 4, 1929, at the Philippine General Hospital in Manila, Philippines. His father Benito, who died from aftereffects of the Bataan Death March and imprisonment in Capas, Tarlac during World War II, was elected to serve in the pre-war National Assembly. Soliven spent his undergraduate years at the Ateneo de Manila University, where he received the OZANAM award for writing.
