Arron Wood
Arron Wood is an Australian environmentalist, consultant and previously Deputy Lord Mayor and Acting Lord Mayor of the City of Melbourne. Wood, a graduate of the University of Melbourne with a degree in forestry, forest science, was the youngest appointed Governor of University College (University of Melbourne). He founded and runs Kids Teaching Kids program to educate students about environmental issues. In 2012, Arron Wood was first elected to Melbourne City Council. Cr Wood was Chair of the Finance and Governance portfolio. He sits on the Victorian Adaptation & Sustainability Partnership Ministerial Advisory Committee, the Parks and Gardens Advisory Committee, the Yarra Park Advisory Committee and was a board member of Sustainability Victoria and the South East Water Authority. Sunrise (Australian TV Program)
Sunrise (or sunup) is the moment when the upper rim of the Sun appears on the horizon in the morning, at the start of the Sun path. The term can also refer to the entire process of the solar disk crossing the horizon. Terminology Although the Sun appears to "rise" from the horizon, it is actually the ''Earth's'' motion that causes the Sun to appear. The illusion of a moving Sun results from Earth observers being in a rotating reference frame; this apparent motion caused many cultures to have mythologies and religions built around the geocentric model, which prevailed until astronomer Nicolaus Copernicus formulated his heliocentric model in the 16th century. Centenary Medal
The Centenary Medal is an award which was created by the Australian Government in 2001. It was established to commemorate the centenary of the Federation of Australia and to recognise "people who made a contribution to Australian society or government". It was also awarded to centenarians, Australian citizens born on or before 31 December 1901 who lived to celebrate the centenary of federation on 1 January 2001. Nominations were assessed by a panel chaired by historian Geoffrey Blainey. Medal Design The obverse of the medal features a seven-pointed Commonwealth Star representing the six Australian states, with the seventh point representing Australia's territories. Mildura ( ) is a regional city in north-west Victoria, Australia. Located on the Victorian side of the Murray River, Mildura had a population of 34,565 at the 2021 census.
