Carlos Arredondo
Carlos Alexander Brian Arredondo (born August 25, 1960) is a Costa Rican-American peace activist and an American Red Cross volunteer. He became an anti-war activist after his 20-year-old eldest son Lance Corporal Alexander Arredondo was killed in action during the Iraq War in 2004. Death of first son Arredondo had two sons United States Marine Corps, Marine Lance Corporal#United States, Lance Corporal Alexander Scott Arredondo and Brian Luis Arredondo with his first wife, Victoria Foley. Alberto Arredondo Gutiérrez (August 28, 1912 – April 17, 1968) was a Cuban journalist and economist. Biography The son of Rafael Arredondo and Leonor Gutiérrez Betancourt, Alberto Arredondo Gutiérrez was a journalist and economist born in Havana, Cuba. Eduardo de Jesús Arredondo Miguel (born October 15, 1984) is a Mexican former professional baseball player. He was known for not striking out often (only 88 times in 352 games from 2005–2009). Arredondo was one of the best players for the Mexico national baseball team in the 2013 World Baseball Classic. Inés Camelo Arredondo (March 20, 1928 – November 2, 1989) was a Mexican writer. In 1947 she enrolled in the department of Philosophy at the National Autonomous University of Mexico. Manuel Antonio Arredondo y Pelegrín was a Spanish judge, soldier and colonial administrator in Peru and Ecuador. Briefly in 1801 he was interim viceroy of Peru. Biography Arredondo arrived in Peru in 1779 as an ''oidor'' (judge) of the '' Audiencia'' of Lima. He witnessed firsthand the insurrection of Túpac Amaru II, which broke out in November of the following year. Túpac Amaru was defeated in January 1781 and executed in May. In 1786 Arredondo was named regent of the Audiencia, and a short time later captain general (military commander) of the viceroyalty. In 1808 he was granted the title of marqués de San Juan Nepomuceno. Upon the death of Viceroy Ambrosio O'Higgins in Lima on March 19, 1801, Arredondo took office as interim viceroy (by virtue of his position as head of the Audiencia).
