The Isle of Arran (; ) or simply Arran is an island off the west coast of Scotland. It is the largest island in the Firth of Clyde and the seventh-largest Scottish island, at . Arran Stephens
Arran Blackburn Stephens (born 1944) is a Canadian entrepreneur, author, and philanthropist. He is co-founder of Nature's Path, a leading manufacturer of organic foods. He is regarded as a pioneer in the food industry and has received numerous acknowledgments for his work promoting sustainable agriculture, organics, and opposition to genetic food modification. Early life Arran Stephens was born on Vancouver Island in British Columbia, the son of Rupert Stephens, a berry farmer and songwriter, and Gwen Stephens. ''NightCaster: Defeat the Darkness'' is a 2002 third-person, single-player, action-adventure game for the Xbox, developed by VR1 Entertainment and published by Microsoft. Arran Distillery
Arran distillery is a whisky distillery in Lochranza, Scotland, Isle of Arran. In 1994 Arran Distillers was founded by Harold Currie, former director of Chivas and a D-Day veteran, with the intention of building a distillery on Arran. During the construction of the distillery, a pair of golden eagles built their nest on a cliff near the distillery; since golden eagles are a protected species, construction of the distillery was temporarily halted. The distillery, funded by private investors and the sale of bonds, opened in 1995. There used to be about fifty distilleries on the island, but most of them were "moonlight" or illegal distilleries. The most recent legally founded distillery on Arran, called ''Lagg'' closed in 1837. From the second half of the 19th century these carpets began to be produced in Jabrayil weaving factories under the name "Ərran", referring to the Ərran region. It is known that in the 9th-10th centuries Barda was the center of this region. More recently, Arran carpets have been called "Jabrail" because they are widely produced in Jabrayil carpet weaving factories. Characteristics The composition of the decorative pattern in the middle section of the Aran carpets consists of tasseled buta. The center was established in 1994 to foster and promote the Lule Sámi language and Sami culture, culture. It does this by arranging on-site and video conference courses in Lule Sámi, publishing books, and doing research. The center has a museum, a souvenir shop, and a Lule Sámi day-care center on its premises. One of the major projects that it was involved with was the Lule Sámi on-line coursSámastaand soon it will be publishing a Norwegian–Lule Sámi dictionary. MV ''Isle of Arran'' () is a drive-through ferry operated on the west coast of Scotland by Caledonian MacBrayne. Also known by her local nicknames IOA and The Auld Trooper, she entered service in 1984 on the Ardrossan to Brodick route, serving Isle of Arran, Arran for nine years before being moved to Kennacraig.
