Cisano Sul Neva
Cisano sul Neva (Genoese: ) is a ''comune'' (municipality) in the Province of Savona in the Italian region Liguria, located about southwest of Genoa and about southwest of Savona. Located in the Val Neva, the territory of Cisano sul Neva borders those of the municipalities of Albenga, Arnasco, Balestrino, Ceriale and Zuccarello. Etymology The comune gets its name from the Neva, a stram flowing down from the Ligurian Alps and crossing its territory. History The town was part of the Marca Aleramica in the 10th century, and in 1091 it became a possession of Boniface del Vasto. Later it was under the Clavesana family, and in 1274 it was acquired by the commune of Albenga, which fortified it. Subsequently it was part of the Republic of Genoa. In the 17th century it was occupied by Savoy soldiers. In 1794–95 Cisano was the seat of fightings between Austrian and French troops. Brading
The ancient 'Kynges Towne' of Brading is the main town of the civil parish of the same name. The ecclesiastical parish of Brading used to cover about a tenth of the Isle of Wight. The civil parish now includes the town itself and Adgestone, Morton, Nunwell and other outlying areas between Ryde, St Helens, Bembridge, Sandown and Arreton. The province of Savona ( it, provincia di Savona; Ligurian: ''provinsa de Sann-a'') is a province in the Liguria region of Italy. Its capital is the city of Savona, which has a population of 61,219 inhabitants. The province has a total population of 279,754. History Savona was first settled by the Ligurian tribe of the Sabazi, who supported the Carthaginians in the Punic Wars. This support of the Carthaginian Empire led to Savona being conquered by the Roman Empire. During the Middle Ages, Savona allied with Frederick II, Holy Roman Emperor and fought against Genoa. In 1440 it also fought against Genoa during its war against the Visconti of Milan; in response, Genoa sacked the city and destroyed the port and shipping. Albenga
Albenga ( lij, Arbenga; la, Albingaunum) is a city and ''comune'' situated on the Gulf of Genoa on the Italian Riviera in the Province of Savona in Liguria, northern Italy. Albenga has the nickname of ''city of a hundred spires''. The economy is mostly based on tourism, local commerce and agriculture.
