Arnaldo Taurisano
Arnaldo Taurisano (Milan, 18 November 1933 – Brescia, 7 May 2019) was an Italian professional basketball coach. In 2009, at the age of 76, he became member of the Italian Basketball Hall of Fame. His career He began his coaching career before reaching the thirties by the local clubs of Lombardy as ''Pavoniana Milano'' and ''Nuova Pallacanestro Vigevano''. In 1963 went north to the club of Pallacanestro Cantù as an assistant coach and heads of infrastructure departments. In 1965–66 season he had the first great opportunity to coach the men's section of Oransoda Cantù and led the team in the fifth place of Serie A with a 12–10 wins record. In 1969 he resumed the position as head coach of the team and began the golden period of his career that lasted over the decade of the 70s. Cantù
Cantù (; Brianzöö: ) is a city and ''comune'' in the Province of Como, located at the center of the Brianza zone in Lombardy. It is the second largest city in Brianza. History The name could stem from that of the Canturigi, a population of Insubria of the 6th century BC. A village was founded here by Gauls in the following century, which was conquered by the ancient Rome, Romans in 196 BC. In the Middle Ages Cantù was a source of conflict between the cities of Milan and Como. The Sforza of Milan took control permanently in the 15th century. The 1977–78 FIBA European Cup Winners' Cup was the twelfth edition of FIBA's 2nd-tier level European-wide professional club basketball competition, contested between national domestic cup champions, running from 19 October 1977, to 29 March 1978. The 1976–77 FIBA Saporta Cup, FIBA European Cup Winners' Cup was the eleventh edition of FIBA Europe, FIBA's European professional club basketball system, 2nd-tier level European-wide professional club basketball competition, contested between national domestic cup champions, running from 20 October 1976, to 29 March 1977. Pallacanestro Pavia was an Italian professional basketball club based in Pavia, Lombardy. For past club sponsorship names, see the list below. History The club was established in 1943 as Onda Pavia by industrialist Luigi Cazzani. In 1955–56, Pavia finished at third place in the Serie A, the national championship. Partenope Napoli Basket is an Italian amateur basketball team from Naples, Campania. History Partenope Napoli Basket first took part in the top-tier level Italian first division, the LBA, from 1963 to 1965.
