Armenian Music Award
Armenian Music Awards was an annual music awards ceremony first held at the Alex Theatre in Glendale, California on October 7, 1998. It was created and produced for the first eight years by Peter Bahlawanian who wanted to support Armenian artists and make Armenian culture. The awards consist of several categories varying from 20 to 30 from year to year. Numerous artists perform live throughout the evening. The nominees and winners are decided by a panel of judges who listen to CDs or MP3s online compilations prior to the night of events. There are, however, some categories that are voted by the general public. Votes are cast through online voting locations. SMS voting was also made available for the same in 2007. The categories that are voted by public are Best Song of The Year, Best Duet Song of The Year, and Best Male & Female Artist of The Year. Hayko
Hayk Borisi "Hayko" Hakobyan (; 25 August 1973 – 29 September 2021) was an Armenian singer and songwriter. Biography Hayko was born on 25 August 1973 in Yerevan, Armenia (then part of the Soviet Union). He studied at Yerevan Secondary School No. 170, then in Secondary School No. 32 named after Hovhannes Tumanyan. In 1987, he graduated from the Yerkhani Chukhachyan Music School and was admitted to R. Melikyan Music College. He started his music career in 1996 with his first song ''Love'' (). He won Armenia's national selection for the Eurovision Song Contest 2007 in Helsinki. He represented Armenia in the Eurovision Song Contest in the final with the song " Anytime You Need". The song placed eighth in the contest. Ruben Levoni Hakhverdyan (; born December 3, 1950) is a popular Armenian poet, guitarist, singer, songwriter, and lyricist. He attended Yerevan's theater institute and in 1975, earned his degree in television and theater direction. He worked for the city's State Television Network. Hakhverdyan is one of the founders of Bard music in Armenia. His songs are extremely popular in Armenia. They include the song ''Navak'' (Armenian: Նավակ – Boat), which is his most famous children's song. Other popular songs include ''Mer Siro Ashuny'' (Armenian: Մեր Սիրո աշունը – The Autumn of Our Love) which is one of Armenia's best known romantic songs. Michael Brook (born 1951) is a Canadian guitarist, inventor, music producer, and film music composer. He plays in many genres, including rock, electronica, world music, minimalism and film scores.
