Balla (musician) is the musical alter-ego of Portuguese musician and record producer Armando Teixeira (musician). Balla's music references the sound and style of Serge Gainsbourg and Jaques Brel, combined with hip hop and cut-and-paste references drawn from his time as DJ and producer with both Bizarra Locomotiva and the platinum selling Da Weasel. The Legendary Tigerman
Paulo Furtado (born 9 September 1970) is a Portuguese singer-songwriter who performs under the stage name The Legendary Tigerman. Furtado started his music career in the lates 1980s when he joined the psychobilly band Tédio Boys. After leaving Tédio Boys, Furtado founded in 2000 the blues rock band Wraygunn. In 2002, he began releasing solo music under the alias The Legendary Tigerman. The Legendary Tigerman started out as a one-man band project, where Furtado would accompany his singing with guitar, harmonica and drums alone on stage. Since 2014, Furtado also plays with a backing band. The Legendary Tigerman has released 7 studio albums to date. Bizarra Locomotiva is a Portuguese industrial metal band. Its history dates back to 1993, when Armando Teixeira (vocals and machinery) and Rui Sidónio (vocals) started a band to participate in Modern Music Competition of the city of Lisbon. After participating in the Biennale of Young Creators of Mediterranean Europe, the Bizarra Locomotiva went in a national tour. Da Weasel
Da Weasel are a Portuguese hip hop/ rock band from Almada (a suburb of Lisbon, Portugal), fronted by MCs Pacman (now known as Carlão) and Virgul. They are one of the oldest hip-hop projects in Portugal, having been formed in 1993 and terminated in 2010, and known for being a full session band, instead of relying on a DJ and samples. The band announced their reunion in 2019. Their music uses elements from hard rock, pop and ska.
