Arman Yeremyan
Arman Yeremyan ( hy, Արման Երեմյան; born 29 January 1986) is an Armenian taekwondo athlete. He is an Armenian and European Champion. Yeremyan has been awarded the Master of Sport of Armenia, International Class title. Biography Arman Yeremyan was born on 29 January 1986 in Yerevan, Armenian SSR. He took up taekwondo under Arsen Avetisyan. He participated in and became the winner of junior international competitions. He won silver and bronze medals at the European Youth Championships in 2001 and 2003. Yeremyan won three bronze medals at the Universiade in 2005, 2007 and 2009. Yeremyan's most significant success was his gold medal victory at the 2008 European Taekwondo Championships in Rome, Italy in the men's welterweight (78 kg) division. He made history as the first Armenian taekwondoist to become a European Champion. ''Taekwondo'', ''Tae Kwon Do'' or ''Taekwon-Do'' (; ko, 태권도/跆拳道 ) is a Korean form of martial arts involving punching and kicking techniques, with emphasis on head-height kicks, spinning jump kicks, and fast kicking techniques. The literal translation for tae kwon do is "kicking", "punching", and "the art or way of". They are a kind of martial arts in which one attacks or defends with hands and feet anytime or anywhere, with occasional use of weapons. Lutalo Muhammad (born 3 June 1991) is a British taekwondo athlete who represented Great Britain at the 2012 Summer Olympics, winning a bronze medal, and the 2016 Summer Olympics, winning a silver medal. Sebastián Crismanich
Sebastián Eduardo Crismanich (born 30 October 1986 in Corrientes) is an Argentine taekwondo athlete. He won the gold medal in the men's 80 kg division at the 2012 Summer Olympics. Sebastián has the distinction of being the second individual athlete to win a gold medal for Argentina, the inaugural taekwondo medal for Argentina. The gold medal honor was established at the 1948 Summer Olympics, when Delfo Cabrera entered the stadium concluding the marathon. In his quest for the gold medal, Crismanich beat New Zealander Vaughn Scott 9-5, and then Afghan Nesar Ahmad Bahawi 9-1 in the quarterfinals. Sébastien Michaud (born May 7, 1987) started in taekwondo at the age of five, following in his father's and brothers footsteps. Born in Joliette, Quebec, he currently resides in Quebec City, Quebec where he studies software engineering at Université Laval. Taekwondo At The 2012 Summer Olympics – Men's 80 Kg
The men's 80 kg competition at the 2012 Summer Olympics was held on 10 August, at the ExCeL Exhibition Centre. Competition format The main bracket consisted of a single elimination tournament, culminating in the gold medal match. Two bronze medals were awarded at the Taekwondo competitions. A repechage was used to determine the bronze medal winners. Every competitor who lost to one of the two finalists competed in the repechage, another single-elimination competition. Each semifinal loser faced the last remaining repechage competitor from the opposite half of the bracket in a bronze medal match.
