Arman
Arman (November 17, 1928 – October 22, 2005) was a French and American artist. Born Armand Fernandez in Nice, France, Arman was a painter who moved from using objects for the ink or paint traces they leave (''cachets'', ''allures d'objet'') to using them as the artworks themselves. He is best known for his ''Accumulations'' and destruction/recomposition of objects. Early life and education Arman's father, Antonio Fernandez, an antiques dealer from Nice, was also an amateur artist, photographer, and cellist. From his father, Arman learned oil painting and photography. After receiving his bachelor's degree in philosophy and mathematics in 1946, Arman began studying at the École Nationale des Arts Décoratifs in Nice. He also studied judo at a police school in Nice, where he met Yves Klein and Claude Pascal. The trio bonded closely on a subsequent hitch-hiking tour around Europe. Arman (cinema)
Arman ( Russian: Арман, '' tr. arman'') is a digital four-screen cinema in Almaty, Kazakhstan, constructed in 1968. It has the status of cultural monument of local importance. History The cinema opened to the public on 3 September 1968. In 1976, it hosted the first stereo movie screening in Kazakhstan. In 1993, by decision № 316 of Nurkadilov, head of the city administration, the Arman and the were transferred to the "General Directorate of International Film Festivals "Kazakhkinofest" enterprise. In 2000, the cinema building was reconstructed and given the status of an entertainment center, but city residents were dissatisfied with the reconstruction, since it was considered by them as an interference into the architecture of one of the city's historic monuments of culture. Arimanius
Arimanius ( ; ) is a name for an obscure deity found in a few Greek literary texts and five Latin inscriptions. It is supposed to be the opponent of Oromazes ( ), the god of light. In classic texts, in the context of Zoroastrianism, ''Areimanios'' (with variations) fairly clearly refers to the Greeks' and Romans' interpretation of the Persian Ahriman. The Latin inscriptions which were found in a Mithraic context suggest a re-defined or different deity with a near-identical name. The most extended passage in classical literature on ''Areimanios'' is in two sections of Plutarch available online: who describes him as the dark or evil side in a dualistic opposition with Oromazes (for ''Ohrmuzd'' or Ahura Mazda). However, Plutarch was specifically describing Persian Zoroastrianism, rather than the obscure Arimanius of the ''Mysteries of Mithras''. Archaeal Richmond Mine acidophilic nanoorganisms (ARMAN) were first discovered in an extremely acidic mine located in northern California ( Richmond Mine at Iron Mountain) by Brett Baker in Jill Banfield's laboratory at the University of California Berkeley.
