Armageddon (Prism Album)
''Armageddon'' is the third studio album by Canadian rock band Prism, released in June 1979 by Capitol Records. It achieved double platinum status in Canada (in excess of 200,000 units sold). ''Armageddon'' is notable for several reasons. Bruce Fairbairn received the Canadian music industry 1980 Juno Award for Producer of the Year for the album. Band leader and guitarist-songwriter Lindsay Mitchell received the SOCAN Song of the Year award for "Night to Remember". It is the band's best selling album. Despite all the commercial success, the band's record label, GRT Records, filed for bankruptcy in the same year of the album's release. Prism (band)
Prism (styled as PRiSM) is a Canadian Rock music, rock band formed in Vancouver in 1977. They were originally active from 1977 to 1984 and have been active again from 1987 to present. Their classic line-up consisted of lead singer Ron Tabak, guitarist Lindsay Mitchell, keyboardist John Hall, bassist Allen Harlow and drummer Rocket Norton. The band's sound is a mix of album-oriented rock (Album-oriented rock, AOR) and pop rock. They have released a total of eight studio albums, three compilation albums and one live album. Juno Award
The Juno Awards (stylized as JUNOS), or simply known as the Junos, are awards presented by Canadian Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences, the Canadian Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences to recognize outstanding achievements in Canada's music industry. Bob Rock
Robert Jens Rock (born April 19, 1954) is a Canadian record producer, recording engineer and musician. In 1976, Rock joined Little Mountain Sound Studios, starting out as a recording engineer and sound mixer. During his time there, he collaborated with producer Bruce Fairbairn, engineering and mixing several influential rock albums, including Loverboy's '' Get Lucky'' (1981), Bon Jovi's '' Slippery When Wet'' (1986), and Aerosmith's '' Permanent Vacation'' (1987). Rock and singer-songwriter Paul Hyde formed the band Payola$ in 1978. Payola$ were best known for the single "Eyes of a Stranger", from their 1982 album '' No Stranger to Danger'', an album that won the band four Juno Awards. Lindsay Christopher Mitchell (born 28 May 1949) is an English-born Canadian musician and songwriter who achieved success as the guitarist and founder of the Canadian rock band Prism.
