Arlene Lien
Lien Hui-hsin (born August 1, 1967) is a Taiwanese educator, producer and professor, best known for her translation of Lien Heng's '' General History of Taiwan'', her production of the ''Discoverer'' series, and the documentary ''History of Taiwan''. Biography Lien was born the oldest child of former vice-president Lien Chan (1996-2000) and his wife Fang Yu. She is the great-granddaughter of the historian Lien Heng. She completed her education in the United States, focusing on literature and History of Arts at Wellesley College. She obtained a master’s degree in arts education from Harvard University and a Ph.D. in arts and education from Columbia University. Upon returning to Taiwan in 1996, she worked as an associate professor at the Department of Graphic Arts and Communications, National Taiwan University until 2005. The Nationaal Archief (NA) is the national archives of the Netherlands, located in The Hague. It houses collections for the central government, the province of South Holland, and the former County of Holland. There is also material from private institutions and individuals with an association to the Dutch government or the political or social history of the Netherlands. Cetilistat
Cetilistat is a drug designed to treat obesity. It acts in the same way as the older drug orlistat (Xenical) by inhibiting pancreatic lipase, an enzyme that breaks down triglycerides in the intestine. Without this enzyme, triglycerides from the diet are prevented from being hydrolyzed into absorbable free fatty acids and are excreted undigested. In human trials from 2007, cetilistat was shown to produce similar weight loss to orlistat, but also produced similar side effects such as oily, loose stools, fecal incontinence, frequent bowel movements, and flatulence. It is likely that the same precautions would apply in that absorption of fat-soluble vitamins and other fat-soluble nutrients may be inhibited, requiring vitamin supplements to be used to avoid deficiencies. Liu Chao-shiuan (; born 10 May 1943) is a Taiwanese chemist and politician. He is a former president of the National Tsing Hua University (1987–1993) and Soochow University (2004–2008) and a former Premier of the Republic of China (2008–2009). Early life and education Liu was born in Changsha, Hunan, in 1943. His family moved to Taiwan during the Great Retreat. After graduating from the Affiliated Senior High School of National Taiwan Normal University, he studied chemistry at National Taiwan University and graduated with his Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in 1965.
