The Ariz–Basurto line (, ) is a short single-track unelectrified railway line in Biscay, Basque Country (autonomous community), Basque Country, Spain. Owned by Euskal Trenbide Sarea, it connects the Basque narrow-gauge railway network with the . It is used for Rail freight transport, freight transport. History On 2 August 1897 the government awarded the concession for a narrow-gauge railway between La Industrial (in ) and Azbarren. A rail yard, railway yard, railroad yard (US) or simply yard, is a series of tracks in a rail network for storing, sorting, or loading and unloading rail vehicles and locomotives. ''El Correo'' (; ) is a leading daily newspaper in Bilbao and the Basque Country of northern Spain. It is among best-selling general interest newspapers in Spain. Ferrocarriles Españoles de Vía Estrecha (FEVE), officially registered as Ferrocarriles de Vía Estrecha and known in its last years by the brand name Feve, was a Spanish public Rail transport, railway operator, founded in 1965, in charge of operating the national Narrow-gauge railway, narrow-gauge network, whose management passed to the State after the extinction of the original owner companies. Bilbao–Plentzia Railway
Line 1 of the Bilbao metro is a rapid transit line in Biscay, Basque Country, Spain. It runs from Etxebarri to Plentzia. Its route covers the municipality of Etxebarri, the city of Bilbao, the right bank of the Nervión river and Uribe Kosta. The line has 29 stations. History On November 11, 1995, Lehendakari José Antonio Ardanza opened the first 23 stations of the metro system between Casco Viejo and Plentzia. The next year, on June 24, 1996, Gobela opened as an infill station between Areeta and Neguri, in the municipality of Getxo.
