Arizona Arsenal Soccer Club is an American soccer club based in Phoenix, Arizona that plays in USL League Two, the fourth tier of the United States Soccer Pyramid. The club was founded in the 1992 as a recreational club and has since grown to become a large semi-professional soccer club in Arizona. History Arizona Arsenal SC was founded in 1992 as a recreational soccer club in the Phoenix area. Arizona Arsenal Soccer Club (formally Gilbert Soccer Club) was created in 1992 as an offshoot of the Gilbert Youth Soccer Association (GYSA). GYSA recognized the need in the community to create a place where highly advanced players could develop and compete throughout Arizona. In the early 2000s, the club began to transition towards a more competitive focus, bringing on directors of coaching like Tim Barmettler who helped the club retain more players. Legacy Sports Park
Arizona Athletic Grounds (formerly known as Bell Bank Park, Legacy Park) is an American multi-purpose sports complex in Mesa, Arizona. It opened on January 7, 2022, before its Grand Opening on 4 February 2022, headlined by musician Lindsey Stirling. History Bell Bank Park is situated on the site of a former General Motors testing facility. In 2018, Mesa voters voted against a bond request for a state owned sports facility nearby and that paved the way for this facility. Ground was broken on the project in October, 2020. The facility is the vision of Legacy Sports, and was known as Legacy Sports Park before a 10-year naming rights deal was struck with Bell Bank. The facility was estimated to have cost $280million. Prior to completion, events were booked including the Jam On It amateur basketball tournaments, who committed to hosting events at the facility until 2032. USL League Two (USL2), formerly the Premier Development League (PDL), is a semi-professional soccer league sponsored by United Soccer Leagues in the United States, forming part of the United States soccer league system. The league will feature 144 teams for the 2025 season, split into nineteen regional divisions across four conferences. USL League Two is headquartered in Tampa, Florida. The Seacoast United Phantoms are the current champions, having defeated Peoria City 3–2 in extra time to win the 2024 USL League Two Championship final on August 3, 2024. The Elite Clubs National League (ECNL) is a national youth soccer developmental league in the United States. It was founded in 2009 as a girls' league and added a boys' league in 2017. Competition format The ECNL is divided by age groups from U-13 through U-19, and into nine (girls') or ten (boys') regional conferences of nine to 16 clubs. Clubs play regular season matches within their conferences, and top teams and wildcards can qualify for a post-season national round-robin champions' league competition.
