Arild Haga
Arild Haga (8 April 1913 – 22 February 1985) was a Norwegian revue writer. He was born in 1913. He wrote revues for the stages Chat Noir, Scala and Edderkoppen, and also composed revue music. Among his songs were "Byen med det store hjertet", "Kioskdamen", "Annen Violin" and "Vi e'kje nokke, vi". He chaired the Norwegian Comedy Writers' Association for 20 years, and received their honorary Leonard Statuette in 1985. Revue
A revue is a type of multi-act popular theatre, theatrical entertainment that combines music, dance, and sketch comedy, sketches. The revue has its roots in 19th century popular entertainment and melodrama but grew into a substantial cultural presence of its own during its golden years from 1916 to 1932. Though most famous for their visual spectacle, revues frequently satirized contemporary figures, news or literature. Similar to the related subforms of operetta and musical theatre, the revue art form brings together music, dance and sketches to create a compelling show. In contrast to these, however, revue does not have an overarching storyline. Rather, a general theme serves as the motto for a loosely related series of acts that alternate between solo performances and dance ensembles. Chat Noir
(French language, French for 'black cat') is a cabaret and revue theatre in Oslo, Norway. It was established in 1912 by Bokken Lasson. The current director is Tom Sterri. Establishment Chat Noir was established as a cabaret in 1912 by singer Bokken Lasson and her later husband, writer Vilhelm Dybwad, modelled after the Paris cabaret Le Chat Noir from the 19th century. During a visit to Paris in the early 1890s Bokken Lasson had found the inspiration of her life. She experienced the literary cabarets of the time, and performers such as Yvette Guilbert. The next years she toured European cities, wearing a self-composed costume, singing gypsy songs and playing lute, performing on the street, at restaurants, cabarets and occasionally in musical comedies. Chat Noir opened 1 March 1912 in the Tivoli building. Bokken Lasson managed the cabaret from 1912 to 1917. Edderkoppen Theatre
The Edderkoppen Theatre is a theatre located at St Olavs Plass in Oslo, Norway. The theatre is known for varied entertainment, ranging from comedy to musical shows. From 1967 to 2003 it was called the ABC theatre. Since 2016, it has been known as Edderkoppen Scene. History The theatre premiered on 3 September 1942 at a different venue. It turned out that the theater auditorium was too small, and in 1945 moved to St. Olav's place. Einar Schanke (1927–1992) took over as theatre director and theatrical producer in 1967, and the theater changed its name to the ABC theater. The theater, however, retained its traditions under Schanke's management. In 1992 Schanke died, and Tom Sterri, Ketil Aamodt and Anders Moland took over. In 1999 the theatre was destroyed by a powerful explosion. A real estate company that owned a nearby hotel purchased the property. ''Leonardstatuetten'' (Leonard Statuette) is a prize awarded by the Norwegian Comedy Writers' Association. The award is named after revue instructor, composer and director Einar Schanke, Einar Leonard Schanke (1927–1992), who was one of Norway's most important revue personalities. The prize is regarded the highest distinction in Norway, Norwegian revue. Awarded from 1968 to 2013, the statuette was given to persons with a significant and lasting importance to Norway's entertainment industry. The ''Great Norwegian Encyclopedia'' (, abbreviated ''SNL'') is a Norwegian-language online encyclopedia. It has several subdivisions, including the Norsk biografisk leksikon. Oslo
Oslo ( or ; ) is the capital and most populous city of Norway. It constitutes both a county and a municipality.
