Ariane Friedrich
Ariane Friedrich (born Tempel; 10 January 1984 in Nordhausen) is a German high jumper. She won the silver medal at the 2009 World Championships and represented Germany at the 2008 Summer Olympics and 2012 Summer Olympics. She is the German outdoor record holder in the event with a best of 2.06 m, although this is 1 cm less than the indoor record held by Heike Henkel. She became German champion in 2004, 2007, 2008, 2009 and 2010, and represents the club LG Eintracht Frankfurt. Controversy arose in 2012 when she named an alleged stalker on Facebook, potentially violating German privacy laws. 2003 European Junior Championships In Athletics
The 2003 European Athletics Junior Championships was held in Tampere, Finland from 23 to 27 July 2003. A total of 44 events were contested; 22 by men and 22 by women. Germany had the biggest medal haul with nine golds and a total of 26, closely followed by Russia (also 9 golds but 24 medals in total). Great Britain was third with 17 medals, while Romania was fourth with ten medals. Heike Henkel
Heike Henkel (; born Heike Redetzky; 5 May 1964) is a German former athlete competing in high jump. She was Olympic, World and European champion. She won the high jump gold medal at the 1992 Summer Olympics in Barcelona. Biography Having competed for West Germany at the Olympic Games in 1984, where as a 20-year-old she finished eleventh (with a jump of 1.85 meters), and 1988, where she failed to qualify for the final, she emerged as the world's leading female high jumper of the early 1990s. She won the gold medal at the 1990 European Athletics Championships in Split, and the 1991 World Athletics Championships in Tokyo with a then-German record of 2.05 metres.
