Arian Salimi
Arian Salimi ( fa, آرین سلیمی; born 16 December 2003 in Kermanshah) is an Iranian Taekwondo athlete. He won a silver medal at the 2022 Asian Games in the Taekwondo at the 2022 Asian Games – Men's +80 kg, Men's +80 kg weight class. Arian Salimi won the gold medal at the 2024 Summer Olympics, Paris 2024 Summer Olympic Games by defeating Caden Cunningham in the final. 2022 Asian Games
The 2022 Asian Games (), officially known as the 19th Asian Games (), also known as Hangzhou 2022, ( zh, c=杭州2022, p=Hángzhōu Èr líng èr èr), will be a multi-sport event celebrated in Hangzhou, Zhejiang, China. Hangzhou will be the third Chinese city to host the Asian Games, after Beijing in 1990 and Guangzhou in 2010. The Games were originally scheduled to take place from 10 to 25 September 2022, but the event was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic on 6 May due to concerns on travelling to mainland China, amid the potential threat of COVID-19 variants. On 19 July 2022, the new dates were announced to be from 23 September to 8 October 2023. Universiade
The Universiade is an international multi-sport event, organized for university athletes by the International University Sports Federation (FISU). The name is a portmanteau of the words "University" and " Olympiad". The Universiade is referred to in English as the World University Games or World Student Games; however, this latter term can also refer to competitions for sub-University grades students. In July 2020 as part of a new branding system by the FISU, it was stated that the Universiade will be officially branded as the FISU World University Games. The Fédération Internationale du Sport Universitaire (FISU, en, International University Sports Federation) is responsible for the organization and governance of worldwide sports competitions for student-athletes between the ages of 17 and 25.
