Ari Folman
Ari Folman (; born December 17, 1962) is an Israeli film director, screenwriter, animator, and film-score composer. He directed the Oscar-nominated animated documentary film '' Waltz with Bashir'' (2008) and the live-action/animated film '' The Congress''. He is a member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. Early life and education Ari Folman was born in Haifa in 1962. His parents were Polish-Jewish Holocaust survivors. Career Folman served in the IDF during the 1982 Lebanon war, and was in the area of the Sabra and Shatila massacre. In 2006, Folman was head writer of the Hot 3 famous drama series '' BeTipul''. Ari Folman's memories of the aftermath of the 1982 Sabra and Shatila massacre, which took place when he was a 19-year-old soldier, served as the basis for his movie '' Waltz with Bashir''. ''BeTipul'' (; lit. ''In Therapy'') is an Israeli television drama, winner of the Television Academy Award revolving around the personal and professional life of an Israeli psychologist, Reuven Dagan, played by Assi Dayan. The series portrays a psychologist who treats patients at his clinic five days a week and then seeks psychological treatment for himself. Filmmaker Ori Sivan served as the head writer of the series together with Hagai Levi and Nir Bergman. David Polonsky
David Polonsky (; born 1973) is an Israeli book illustrator and artistic film director. His illustrations appeared in all major Israeli magazines and newspapers and illustrated many children's books, for which he received multiple awards. He also directed children's animated TV films. He taught illustration at the Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design. In 2018, he illustrated Ari Folman's graphic novel adaptation of Anne Frank's diary.
