Argja Bóltfelag (AB) is a Faroe Islands, Faroese Professional sports, professional football Football team, club based in Argir. In 2020, they were playing their third season in the Faroe Islands Premier League, after being promoted from 1. deild after playing there for 1 season in 2017. After the 2020 season they ended as 9th and played a match against B68 Toftir from 1. deild, the winner would play in the Faroe Islands Premier League for the 2021 season. Argir Stadium
Argir () is a village in the Faroe Islands. Argir most likely takes its name from Irish Language, Old Irish ''airge,'' which means ''summer pasture''.; several placenames in Faroe carry the same name with this meaning. Once a village south of Tórshavn, Argir has grown and merged with Tórshavn. In 1997, it joined the municipality of Tórshavn. In recent years, more houses have been built in Argir, and the village, or quarter, has grown upwards into the hills. This area has views over the sea and the capital. There is a boat harbour with boathouses in Argir and a church built in 1974. From the 16th century until 1750, there was a leprosy-hospital in Argir. Some paupers lived there, too. When the hospital closed, the building became a workhouse for the poor. On 9 May 1828, Andreas Mortensen (1794-1875) bought Argir in an auction for 1005 "ríkis dálar." Jonas Dal Andersen (born 7 July 1976) is a Danish former professional footballer and current sporting director of Ebedei. Coaching career In January 2013, Dal was named new manager of Hobro IK replacing Klavs Rasmussen, who had resigned a few days earlier. In his first season he led the club to a 9th place in the Danish 1st Division, but in the following season he secured the club's first ever promotion to the Danish Superliga. Bill McLeod Jacobsen (born 30 November 1974 in Klaksvík, Faroe Islands) is head coach of the Faroe Islands national under-21 football team along with Heðin Askham. He was first appointed in 2007. Under his coaching, the Faroe Islands under-21 team finished the 2009-2010 qualification campaign with a total of 11 points, which is the highest any Faroese national team have achieved during qualification stages. Allan Mørkøre (born 22 November 1971) is a former Faroese professional football midfielder. Now he is a manager for B71 Sandoy, which plays in the men's second best division. He was manager for AB from 2008 to 2010, he replaced Sigfríður Clementsen, who is currently the manager for HB. In 2010, he became manager of B36 Tórshavn.
