Argentine Brazilians ( pt, Argentino-brasileiro, Spanish: ''Argentino-brasileño'', Rioplatense Spanish: ''Argentino-brasilero'') are Brazilian citizens of full, partial, or predominantly Argentine ancestry, or an Argentine-born person residing in Brazil. Recently, because of the economic recession that had been affecting Argentina since 2018 and which intensified from 2020, some Argentines are moving to Brazil in search of better opportunities. The runaway inflation rate, tax increases, the strict control of capital, the increase in Argentine company bankruptcies and the constant loss of value of the Argentine Peso, represent some of the factors that lead to increase in the Argentine immigration process to Brazil and other countries. Fernando Meligeni
Fernando Ariel Meligeni (born April 12, 1971), nicknamed ''Fininho'' (diminutive form in Portuguese for ''thin''), is a Brazilian former professional tennis player. He won 3 singles titles and reached the semi-finals of both the 1999 French Open and the 1996 Summer Olympics. He was well known because of his capacity of fighting at the court, taking matches to the limit (tiebreaks and five sets). His favorite surface was clay. Meligeni is considered by critics one of the best tennis players to represent Brazil, in both singles and doubles. Claudio Slon
Claudio Slon (November 12, 1943 - April 16, 2002) was a notable Brazilian jazz drummer born in Buenos Aires, Argentina. He performed in a variety of Latin music genres, including Latin pop, Latin jazz, Brazilian pop and easy pop. The son of a classical violinist and a ballet instructor, Slon was raised in São Paulo and began recording professionally at an early age, taking first place in a national poll of jazz critics while still a teenager. He performed alongside his father in the São Paulo Philharmonic, before appearing with the Walter Wanderley Trio, as well as Sérgio Mendes' Brasil '66 and Brasil ‘77 during the 1960s and 1970s. Amaury Antônio Pasos, also commonly known simply as Amaury (born December 11, 1935) is a retired Brazilian basketball player and coach of Argentine origin. Born in São Paulo, Brazil, he was a 1.91 m (6'3") tall power forward. He competed at three Olympic Games and was named one of FIBA's 50 Greatest Players in 1991.
