Ares Kutaisi
Ares Kutaisi (officially Aa(i)p Rugby Club "Ares" Kutaisi) is a professional rugby union club from Kutaisi, Georgia. They compete in the Georgian Didi 10. History Founded in 2015 Ares Kutaisi play at the Aia Arena, sharing the stadium with RC Aia Kutaisi, Bagrat Kutaisi and RC Dinosaurs Tskaltubo. They won the Georgian Regional League in 2016, winning promotion to the Georgian First League. They won the league in 2019, however, they were not promoted until 2020 when again they topped the table winning 15 out of 15 games before the season was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The Georgian Rugby Union (GRU) ( ka, საქართველოს რაგბის კავშირი) is the governing body for the sport of rugby union in the nation of Georgia (country), Georgia. History Founded in 1964, it was part of the Rugby Union of the Soviet Union until 1991, with the Independent Georgian Rugby Union being established on May 27, 1991. It organizes the Georgia Championship, Georgia Cup, the Georgia national rugby union team and the Georgia XV national rugby union team. It became affiliated to World Rugby, then known as the International Rugby Football Board, in 1992. It is based in Tbilisi. 2023–24 Didi 10 Season
The 2023–24 Didi 10 is the 34th season of the Didi 10, top flight of Georgian domestic rugby union competition. RC Aia Kutaisi were champions after beating Lelo Saracens in the final. Teams The competition featured 10 teams, the reigning champions entering the season were RC Rustavi Kharebi, who claimed their 1st league title after winning the 2023 final.
