Area Support Group Black Sea
Area Support Group Black Sea (ASG-BS) is a United States European Command initiative executed by U.S. Army Europe (USAREUR) designed to strengthen relationships between the United States and its Eastern European allies. Area Support Group Black Sea is part of 21st Theater Sustainment Command, and provides base operations support and services for military personnel, civilians, and contractors in the Black Sea region, enabling readiness of permanent, rotational, allied, and expeditionary forces in Romania and Bulgaria. The Supreme Headquarters Allied Powers Europe (SHAPE) is the military headquarters of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization's (NATO) Allied Command Operations (ACO) that commands all NATO operations worldwide. SHAPE is situated in the village of Casteau, near Mons, Belgium. ACO's and SHAPE's commander is titled Supreme Allied Commander Europe (SACEUR), and is always a U.S. four-star general officer or flag officer who also serves as Commander, U.S. European Command. The Pentagon
The Pentagon is the headquarters building of the United States Department of Defense, in Arlington County, Virginia, across the Potomac River from Washington, D.C. A brigade is a major tactical military unit, military formation that typically comprises three to six battalions plus supporting elements. The 1st Maneuver Support Brigade "Argedava" (''Brigada 1 Sprijin Manevră "Argedava"'') is a brigade of the Romanian Land Forces. It was initially formed as the 36th Infantry Regiment, and named after the Moldavian Voivode Vasile Lupu. The brigade is considered the best and most modern infantry brigade in the Romanian Land Forces; its headquarters are located in Bucharest. Forward Operating Site
A forward operating site (FOS) or forward operating location (FOL) is a U.S. military term for facilities, defined as "a scalable, 'warm' facility that can support sustained operations, but with only a small permanent presence of support or contractor personnel as opposed to a FOB or MOB. A FOS will host occasional rotational forces and many contain pre-positioned equipment."
